Here Are Top 3 Reasons Why You Must Open Your Children To The Scriptures

Truth is there is more than one reason why the average, normal parent does not want to teach his or her children the important practice that is Scripture reading. First and foremost it takes too much time, and it also takes too much effort, and even most importantly, children are not even interested in children Bible verses anyway. They want their anime cartoons and DC Comics superhero movies. They are not interested to learn about the Scriptures.

On the other hand, there are many other reasons why a parent, a Christian parent no less, should teach their children to sharpen and develop the good habit of reading the children Bible verses regularly.

          ]]>

Here they are:

When you recite the Scriptures together as a family, you are creating an atmosphere of oneness with your children and spouse, and everyone is much more open to each other emotionally and spiritually.

This is helpful for kids who often have trouble telling their feelings to their parents. Scripture reading helps you solve this problem.

Consistent reading of the Scriptures requires great discipline and patience. Even for adults like you and me, you have to be extremely dedicated to the activity of reading the Scriptures if you want to be able to do it from start to finish.

And if you are always reading the Scriptures in front of your kid, it simply shows how much you value the words of the Lord, and they are more or less bound to follow in your footsteps. By reading the Scriptures, you are strengthening your kid’s own spiritual growth.

Many of us learn about Christianity and its many beliefs from our local pastors, ministers, priests, etc. At least I know for myself that I learned about Christianity in that way. But do you children not trust you the most – their parents? Who is more capable and qualified to teach them about their Christian religion than their own parents?

By reading the Scriptures on a regular basis, you open up possibilities for you to reach out to your children and teach them about the Lord and the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Now can you still think of any valid reason why you should not teach your children to read the Scriptures? I bet you can’t.

The youngest foot soldiers for the Lord are shown in their native environment in this documentary.

Importance of Gospel music in Christian Living

Music has a universal language and it can express any emotion and feeling. Music says different things for different people, but the universally acknowledged thing is that music can express anything. Gospel music is a kind of music that is traditionally been sung to express faith, devotion and praise to god. The genre of gospel music is characterized by dominant vocals and strong use of harmony of a religious nature.

In a society where teaching kids about the Christian life can be compared to teaching an old dog new tricks, Christian magicians come to the rescue with their bags of tricks, their lessons of God, and the importance of upholding and preserving your spirituality and faith in God.

Playing the piano at church is no easy task. Many times you are given alot of things to learn in a short amount of time. You can be often asked to accompany singers on song of which you may have never played before. As newbie or even a seasoned vet you should get as much knowledge about what your doing as you can get. You can’t play what you’ve never heard. You can play something similar but If don’t know what the type music your supposed to be playing sounds like your going to be limited in what you can do.

          ]]>

A lot of kids nowadays do not want to attend Sunday school because they want to go back to playing and watching television all day. Some do not even want to listen because they do not really understand why learning about Jesus Christ and his life is important to them. Magicians with Christian programs for children design their shows and performances to help bring back the love for God in children and to make their Church experience fun and exciting for them. Christian magician’s alot of time will use interactive fun and storytelling to captivate children, making Sunday school and Vacation Bible studies a lot more fun.

In Gospel Music, the instrument most commonly used is drum, electric guitar and electric bass guitar. Though gospel music was started by African Americans. The reach of music has always been world wide and Gospel Music is no exception to this. The first category under gospel music is urban contemporary gospel music and this genre was popularized by the southern slaves who sang the song to praise their gods. Southern gospel is another category under gospel music which is also huge popular. Like all other forms of music Gospel Music has also evolved a lot over the years. Today many new instruments and sounds have been added to this form of music, and the basic idea behind this being to make the music popular.

The Gospels themselves contain a number of clues giving us a rough idea of when they were written. Gospel music is the unique music genre that is made by the Christians to express their personal and spiritual communal with god. It is one of their ways to show their religious works with the use of music. There are so many Christian bands and singers these days that are really popular with their gospel songs. Gospel music and Christian living has always been in lined with the modern world. It is something that is with this religion that is different of the others.

                          PREFACE

What do you call a crazy spaceman? – - An Astronut.

What follows is a nearly word for word online version of my ©1986 booklet WEIRD ESCHATOLOGY: AN ALTERNATIVE VIEW OF THE SECOND COMING (ISBN 0-9616435-0-1; Library of Congress Call Number BT823.M55 1986). By the time you finish this, you may conclude that this particular peculiar interpretation of the Book of Revelation should be relegated to the teachings of self-appointed cranks, crackpots, prophets of doom and various other assorted fanatics. But perhaps, even so, your own view may be clarified when you read this. The first chapter deals with theology and may be slightly dull, but fasten your seatbelt, as I will get more and more weird ahead (in terms of any interpretation you have seen before). Note that I make use of mostly unobtainable texts and obscure films. Lack of access to these sources should not impede your understanding of what follows. Also, to emphasize the ostensibly momentous issues I am dealing with here, I capitalize the subject phrases I discuss.

                            CHAPTER ONE

                       A PLAUSIBLE TIMETABLE

Are you a Christian? Do you believe in the Second Coming at some future date? Is it legitimate to construct timetables for these future events?

Rhetorical questions such as these right off the bat may well put you off. A major difficulty is that no consensus as to when and in what sequence these predicted events must take place. This topic has always been a particular source of schism and polemic. I will be proposing specific dates as numerous have in each generation before me. And as many have been before me, I can be refuted by the mere passage of time.

The majority view espoused by most evangelicals is pretribulational premillennalism, which I only partially agree with. I will point out that part of this view is in fact based on a historical novelty that only traces back to the nineteenth century. What I mean here is that in terms of the glacially slow movement of theology (remember that the canon was finalized some two thousand years ago), the majority view is a relatively recent innovation.

I prefer a distinctly minority position, which would be called multiple-rapture postmillennialism. The postmillennial position holds that many of the predictions made in the New Testament, including those of the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24, Mk 13, Luke 21), were accomplished in the early Christian era, and their past fulfillment limit’s the future events to be expected. There exists one school, represented by, for example, Max King and Timothy James, which holds that each and every prophecy of the entire New Testament was accomplished during the early Church age. However, I feel this view neglects proper consideration of the Book of Revelation.

Postmillennialism is also sometimes referred to as preterism, which implies that the text is allowed to speak without exegesis. Thus, when Jesus repeatedly predicts the Kingdom within a generation, I do not write off the statement as a mistake or excess of enthusiasm. Instead, I draw up a timetable that shows the Kingdom beginning a generation after the Crucifixion. Then, when John of Patmos says the Millennium starts at this date of the beginning of the Kingdom, I duly go to my chart (at the end of this chapter) and set the Thousand Year Clock ticking. There was in

WHAT IS A PERSONAL INJURY CASE IN ORANGE COUNTY CALIFORNIA?

By Orange County personal injury and wrongful death lawyer, Jon Mitchell Jackson (2009 Trial Lawyer of the Year) at http://jacksonandwilson.com

A personal injury or catastrophic injury case occurs when a person has suffered some form of severe physical or psychological injury as a result of another person or company’s wrongful conduct. The wrongful conduct may be simple negligence or intentional, willful, wanton or reckless conduct.

In some instances, a party may be strictly liable for injury to another without the injured person having to show any wrongdoing by the other party.

Personal injury cases we’ve helped families with over the past 25 years include the following…

Automobile Accident Injuries- Each year in the United States there are more than six million motor vehicle accidents. This year, approximately 10,839 people will die in drunk-driving crashes – one every 50 minutes.

Motorcycle Accident Injuries- Each year, about 4,000 riders sustain fatal injuries in motorcycle accidents. And each year, another 76,000 are injured. Statistically, about 12 motorcycle riders are involved in fatal accidents each day with another 208 riders sustaining injury on U.S. roadways.

Large Truck Accident Injuries- On an annual basis, there are about 5,000 large truck related fatal accidents in the United States.

Slip and Fall Injuries- Most people are not aware of the fact that slip and fall injuries are the second leading cause of injuries in the United States. On an average, they account for about 16,000 deaths every year.

Dog Bite Injuries- Each year across the United States, almost 5,000,000 people are bitten or attacked by dogs and 334,000 dog bite and dog attack victims require emergency medical treatment.

Spinal Cord and Paralysis Injuries- Every year, about 11,000 Americans experience spinal cord injuries, adding up to 200,000 people living with spinal cord injury disability in the United States.

Burn Injuries- Each year in the United States, about 4,500 people die from severe burn injuries. Another 45,000 people are hospitalized. Up to 10,000 people in the United States die each year of burn-related infections. When you look at the total numbers, more than 1.1 million of our citizens experience some type of burn injury each and every year.

Head and Brain Injuries- About 1,000,000 Americans experience major head and brain injuries each year.

Drowning- For any given year, there is one drowning of a child for every 11,000 residential pools in the United States. What this means is that in a country with 6 million pools, roughly 550 children under the age of ten drown each year.

Medical Malpractice- It is conservatively estimated that about 90,000 people lose their lives annually in the hospital because of medical malpractice. Medication errors affect almost 1.5 million people each year.

Other personal injury cases we’ve helped clients with include animal attacks, boat and watercraft accidents, brain injuries, construction accidents, hazardous products, insurance bad faith cases, medical malpractice, product liability, professional malpractice, railroad accidents, and wrongful death cases.

What Damages are Available in a California Personal Injury Case?

In most catastrophic personal injury cases, a victim may be entitled to monetary compensation for bodily injury and pain and suffering from the person or company whose negligent or wrongful conduct caused the injury. This includes a momentary lapse in judgment, a mistake or simple negligence.

Injuries caused by intentional, willful, wanton or reckless conduct may also allow an injured party to receive punitive damages which are designed to punish the responsible party. Over the past two decades, we’ve handled both types of case.

The primary damages you may be entitled to if you are a victim of personal injury are called compensatory or actual damages. These damages are intended to provide reimbursement or payment to you for your past and future “out of pocket” expenses or losses. Please keep in mind that an expert is normally required to help prove the full extent of your recoverable damages.

The most common compensatory damages include the following:

Medical Expenses- Past and future bills and expenses for health care services from an ambulance or emergency providers, hospitals, doctors, medication, and related services from nurses or other health care providers related to your injury, care and treatment.

Lost Earnings- If you were unable to work for a period

The Thick of It

                Background

Armando Iannucci originally conceived of a modern political satire after “arguing the case” for Yes Minister in a 2004 Best British Sitcom poll for BBC2. His idea was commissioned by Roly Keating, the controller of BBC Four, who granted Iannucci limited budget, telling him to “turn that into what you can.” Iannucci created the first series of three episodes, which aired in May-June 2005, and a second series, also of three episodes, which followed in October.

Production

The series is written by a team of writers led by Armando Iannucci, who also directs the series, with Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Roger Drew, Sean Gray, Ian Martin, Will Smith and Tony Roche. Some of the dialogue is improvised rather than scripted (with the cast credited as providing “additional material”), and includes some very strong language. Peter Capaldi has stated that “Fundamentally 80% of the final cut is the script that we started with. The improvisation just makes it feel more real and not written.” Prior to rehearsals, the scripts are sent to a “swearing consultant” in Lancaster called Ian Martin, who adds some of the series’ more colourful language. The programme’s producer is Adam Tandy, who has produced all of Iannucci’s television projects since 2000. The programme is shot with hand-held cameras to give it a sense of vrit or fly on the wall documentary. The documentary style is furthered by the absence of any incidental music or laughter track.

On 2 April 2007, a DVD of the first six episodes was released as “The Complete First Series”. It also included audio commentary, deleted scenes, and photo galleries. The two specials were released on a second DVD in April 2009.

Plot

The action centres on the fictitious Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship (“DoSAC” previously the Department of Social Affairs, or “DSA”, prior to the reshuffle of episode five), which supposedly came out of the Prime Minister’s passing enthusiasm for “joined-up government”. Thus, it acts as a “Super Department” overseeing many others, which enables different political themes to be dealt with in the programme, similar to the Department for Administrative Affairs in Yes Minister.

Hugh Abbot, played by Chris Langham, is a blundering minister heading the department, who is continually trying to do his job under the watchful eye of Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi), Number 10′s highly aggressive and domineering “enforcer”. The programme also features James Smith as Senior Special Adviser Glen Cullen, who is not an MP, Chris Addison as Junior Policy Adviser Olly Reeder, and Joanna Scanlan as Civil Service Press Secretary Terri Coverley.

Series one and two

In the first batch of three episodes, Hugh Abbot is installed as a new minister following the forced resignation of his predecessor Cliff Lawton. These episodes follow his attempts to make his mark on the department by introducing new policies while following the party line enforced by Malcolm Tucker. Due to a series of complications and mistakes, this leads to the minister coming close to resignation on a number of occasions.

In the second batch of episodes, a reshuffle is in the offing, and the series follows the minister’s attempts to keep his job. Olly is seconded to Number 10 “to phone his girlfriend” Emma Messinger, who happens to be a member of the shadow defence policy team, where he is under the close eye of enforcer Jamie. Meanwhile, Terri Coverley is on compassionate leave following the death of her father, leaving her role to Robyn Murdoch, a Senior Press Officer. The department also has to contend with the interference of the Prime Minister’s “Blue Skies” adviser Julius Nicholson. The minister and the department survive the reshuffle, with the department being rebranded as the “Department of Social Affairs and Citizenship” and moved to a new building. However, the mistakes and compromises continue.

Specials

In the two specials, following the Christmas break, Hugh Abbot is in Australia and the department has to “babysit” Junior Minister for Immigration Ben Swain, who is described as a “nutter” (a supporter of prime-minister-in-waiting Tom Davis). The first special revolves around a computer problem at Immigration, which is exacerbated by the junior minister appearing in a disastrous Newsnight interview. The opposition policy advisor Emma Messinger capitalises on the error by stealing an idea from Ollie Reader, her boyfriend, to send the shadow minister Peter Mannion on a factfinding mission at an immigration centre. Meanwhile, Malcolm Tucker is concerned about his position in the government after speculating that the Prime Minister’s handover to Tom Davis is expected in less than six months. Tucker conspires with Ollie to leak the Prime Minister’s “legacy programme” (the PM’s plan to move the handling of immigration policy to a non-political executive board) in the hope of

WELL, would you? Most adults may answer no. But not a child. Fear of snakes, including the cobra, is not an instinctive trait in young children or even in animals. Aversion to snakes can be caused by information that is not reliable, exaggerated stories, myths, and misconceptions.

Of course, when we invite you to meet a cobra, we mean at a safe distance! Cobras are highly venomous, and we would not want to go up to one and hold out our hand to stroke it. Nor would the cobra be likely to wait around to greet us; on hearing our approach, it would beat a hasty retreat to a safe hiding place. So let us be satisfied to meet the cobra just by learning some fascinating facts about this interesting creature.

Cobras are reptiles of the suborder Serpentes and the family Elapidae, a name given to venomous snakes with grooved fangs. There are about 12 species of cobras scattered from Australia through the tropics of Asia and Africa to Arabia and the Temperate Zones. By far the most fearsome of the cobras is the king cobra, or hamadryad. With a length of 9 to 18 feet [3 to 5 m], this is the largest poisonous snake in the world. Preferring the dense undergrowth of jungle or swamp, where rainfall is copious, it can be found in southern China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and parts of India. A jet-black tail, bands of color on a greenish-yellow body, which turns to dark olive with age, and groups of small spots on its hood make it look quite beautiful.

Other species of cobra average from three to six feet [1 to 2 m] in length. Indigenous to India and widely distributed there, is the spectacled cobra with unique markings on its hood, which resemble a pair of spectacles. It can be black, dark brown, or yellowish-white with a wide, dark neckband and speckled white and yellow bands on the length of its body. The monocled cobra, found in Sri Lanka as well as in eastern and northeastern India, is lighter with a smaller, more round hood having a single white circle, which gives it its name. In northwest India and in Pakistan, we find a jet-black cobra. Africa has, among others, the ringhals, or the spitting cobra, and the Egyptian cobra. The latter, a dark and narrow-hooded snake, is possibly the asp to which the death of Queen Cleopatra is attributed.

Snakes mate only with their own species, being attracted by a unique musk odor. The cobra shows more family interest than other snakes, male and female often remaining together. The female king cobra is one of the few snakes known to make a nest. She scrapes leaves into a mound about one foot [30 cm] high and deposits 20 to 50 eggs in it. She then coils her body around the mound and remains there, without food, for the almost two months of incubation, the male often staying close too. Other cobras, without preparing a nest, remain near their eggs to protect them.

The baby snakes use an egg tooth, which later falls off, to slit the shell and release themselves. On emerging they are totally independent with fully-formed venom glands and fangs. They flick out their tongues frequently, taste the surroundings, and transfer chemical information to what is called the Jacobson’s organ in the roof of the mouth. This is linked to the sense of smell; the combination of taste and smell helps the snake to track its prey, find a mate, or escape predators.

The young snake grows rapidly and within a short time sheds its outer skin, which has become too tight. This unusual phenomenon is repeated regularly, since the cobra keeps growing throughout its life, which can be over 20 years. For one or two weeks before the molt, the snake becomes lethargic, its skin becomes dull, and its eyes turn milky-blue. Then, suddenly, the eyes clear, and by rubbing its head on stones, the snake splits the old skin at its mouth. Now it literally crawls out of its skin as this peels off inside out, from the transparent cap over the eyes right down to the tail. Now a lively, shiny, new-looking snake is ready to go about its normal activity.

Air temperature greatly affects cobras. As the weather cools, they slow down and even become dormant, only stirring when the temperature rises. Too much heat can kill them. Except for the king cobra, which feeds on snakes, their diet is rats, mice, frogs, lizards, birds, and other small animals. After the prey is caught, an injection of venom immobilizes it. It is ingested whole, as the cobra is not equipped to chew food. The elasticity of the skin and the flexibility of the jaw allow the cobra to swallow an animal that is two or three times larger than its own head. While the mouth is totally blocked by the victim, the snake breathes by drawing the entrance to the windpipe forward beyond the obstruction, just as a swimmer uses a snorkel. Now rows of backward-curving teeth move the prey along into the snake’s body. It retires to a quiet place to digest the food slowly, perhaps not eating
