Mandy Patinkin – Children Will Listen
Mandy Patinkin singing the song Children Will Listen in 1995.
Video Rating: 4 / 5
Barbra singing ‘Children Will Listen’ from the Presidents Inaugural Gala in ’93. She gives a great monologue at the beginning that introduces the song, and another thought in the middle that makes a great point and enhances what the song is saying. Not many people put that much thought into a 10 minute appearance but then, there’s only one Barbra.

July 16th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
You’re right- he just hits every note. His voice is just so warm sounding
July 16th, 2010 at 2:26 pm
He’s such a versatile talent, and his voice is so remarkably unusual. I know it’s not to everyone’s taste, but the timbre is so distinctive and, i dunno, pure sounding, I guess is the only way I can describe it. He’s coming to my town in concert with Patti Lupone and I must see it or die trying!
July 16th, 2010 at 2:53 pm
wow i was watching the show “dead like me” and i looked up stuff that he did i didnt know he could sing so good jesus i was blown away
July 16th, 2010 at 3:16 pm
I didn’t even know he could sing until two seconds ago!
I LOVED him on CM – they so have to bring him back.
This just makes me love him more – he has such amazing talent!

July 16th, 2010 at 4:36 pm
This incredible piano player is Paul Ford. He’s accompanied him for many years.
July 16th, 2010 at 5:33 pm
whyyy is she so freaking gorgeous?!
July 16th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
This song is beautiful no matter who sings it
July 16th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
wow…shes WAY better than bernadette.
July 16th, 2010 at 6:34 pm
hmm…she kinda killed this song…sorry..i thought it was gonna be better..i prefer bernadette and barbra is nothing like her! but she does make good points
July 16th, 2010 at 6:36 pm
Yup – both Barbra & Bernadette are great …. What is that ‘accent’ that Barbra has when speaking ??
July 16th, 2010 at 6:51 pm
Wow. She is magnificent. She will always be fabulous. I don’t care what anyone says. Bernadette Peters and Barbra Streisand are in the same league. They’re simply amazing. Legendary. <3 this song.
July 16th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
Fabulous….
July 16th, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Is there anyone like unto Barbra?
July 16th, 2010 at 8:04 pm

July 16th, 2010 at 8:47 pm
oooh I got chills when she said “into the woods” and the music kicked in…a gorgeous song.
July 16th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
no one could ever sing it like Bernadette Peters!!
July 16th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
The REAL genius of this song is the wise and wonderul old Sondheim himself. The song’s a gift for any half-decent singer. ‘
July 16th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
yes, yes u must put children first. LOL. bu tit really is a beautiful song!
July 16th, 2010 at 10:05 pm
Barbra and Bernadette are amazing singers in their own ways. Having just listen to both versions, they are both great in their respective situation. So enough of the name calling as The Children will not only LISTEN they will READ, what you adults, supposedly, are writing and saying.
July 16th, 2010 at 10:48 pm
You know nothing you arrogent Tit!
July 16th, 2010 at 11:32 pm
Well said, Im a vocalist it its so frustrating when people have an expectation of you. If you note slightly cracks it means its rubish. I totally agree, Barbra is the greatest.
July 17th, 2010 at 12:11 am
Its decent but its not all that.
I love Barbra but the way she sung this song wasn’t all that for me.
I loved the monologue at the start though.
I prefer when Bernadette Peters sings this song.
July 17th, 2010 at 12:31 am
It’s impossible for Barbra to butcher anything – just because you have an overly static idea in your head of what this song should sound like doesn’t mean you go around insulting one of the world’s best singers….
July 17th, 2010 at 12:50 am
Watch the ORIGINAL Into The Woods song and you will SEE why!
July 17th, 2010 at 12:57 am
I think it’s decent. How has she butchered it?
July 17th, 2010 at 1:07 am
She BUTCHERED IT! Have her arrested!
July 17th, 2010 at 1:24 am
Few people realize how close this song is to Barbra. Both her mother and father were very harsh on her, and she rarely received compliments and was told she was too ugly to be an actress.
July 17th, 2010 at 1:27 am
u cnt beat berndette peters though
July 17th, 2010 at 1:43 am
Where is Lani Misalucha’s version of this song??? It’s such a great version!!! Pls post it back!!!
July 17th, 2010 at 2:13 am

July 18th, 2010 at 8:23 pm
I have been looking around on the net looking to get ideas on the way to get my website coded, your present design and theme are excellent. Did you actually code it yourself or did you get a coder to do it for you personally?
July 20th, 2010 at 11:08 pm
I have been looking around on the net trying to find ideas on the way to get our website coded, your overall style together with design are fantastic. Did you actually code it your self or did you employ a coder to do it on your behalf?
